Designing a Wedding Palette That Ages Well

We rarely begin with colour. We begin with material — raw silk, unbleached cotton, brass, clay, stone — and let the palette emerge from what those materials already are under candlelight.

The second rule is restraint in accent. One strong colour, used three or four times across three days, reads as intention. Four strong colours read as a catalogue.

Finally, test everything at the hour it will be seen. A burgundy that is deep and quiet at dusk can turn heavy at noon, and a gold that glows under warm light can look brassy under white.
