The concept
Aanya and Rehan wanted a wedding that felt like a private evening in a house they had known all their lives — grand in scale, quiet in tone. We built the celebration around water, candlelight and the long walk from the jetty to the courtyard.
Design story
We took our palette from the palace itself: bleached ivory stone, weathered gold and the deep green of the hills at dusk. Nothing was added that the architecture did not already suggest. Drapery was kept in unbleached khadi so that candlelight, rather than colour, did the work.
Decor
- Twelve hundred hand-poured beeswax candles along the ghats
- Unbleached khadi canopies with antique brass finials
- Tuberose, jasmine and white astilbe grown in Pushkar
- Restored 1920s Jaipur furniture for the lounge terraces
The ceremonies
Four days of celebration.

Welcome Lunch
Courtyard, with a live thali counter and folk musicians.

Mehendi
Morning garden setting with citrus, cane and shade cloth.

Sangeet
A floating stage on the lake with a nine-piece band.

Pheras
Sunrise ceremony under a bare mango-wood mandap.

Reception
Black-tie dinner across the terrace, ending with a boat send-off.
Food
A three-kitchen programme: Rajasthani slow-cooked classics, a Levantine grill and a dessert room built around saffron and rose.
Entertainment
A Jodhpur folk ensemble at arrival, a contemporary jazz trio through dinner, and a late-night DJ set on the water terrace.
